Some WordPress themes allow you to customise till your hearts content making it easy to problem solve. Retail Therapy is not one of these themes. Don’t get me wrong, it is a great theme. However like many other themes, it has a glaring box warning you against editing the code. And for a good reason too! It is incredibly easy to make a mistake – and when you do, the Retail Therapy theme creators are likely shaking their heads in an “I told you so” way.

So what does this mean when you’re stuck with something you would like to change? In my case it was the product reviews on Every. Single. Product. Here’s a simple way to fix product reviews using the retail therapy theme:

Install a Disable Comments Plugin

A simple disable comments plugin (recent as of November 2014) is the simplest way to turn off reviews. With an average rating of 4.8 stars it proves to be a fairly reliable plugin. Unfortunately this does mean comments are disabled from your site which wouldn’t work well for blogs or online communities! But most simple e-commerce sites can get away without comments enabled.
